.........................
This is the Academïe (Moscow) 1934 hardcover publication, edited by V. Rzhiga and S. Shambinago, of the seminal medieval Russian saga, The Lay of the Host of Igor, a telling of Prince Igor Palekh’s ill-fated campaign against the marauding Polovetsians, and his subsequent escape.
This hardcover is in near fine condition, in a case that is worn but in good overall condition. The cover, approximately 17″ x 11.5″, has surface smudges, but no stains of note, no fade to the illustration (see photo), and no tears or like flaws.
Other than handling smudges to page borders, the interior is clean, with all 10 full page laid in illustrations unfaded, clean and securely attached. One facing page is sunned (see photo). Most of the tissue guards are present and in good condition. The text is also unfaded and clearly legible. There are no stamps or other attachments. There is no writing. The binding is secure, with no loose or missing pages. There are no page tears. An addendum, loosely laid-in at the front of the book (see photo), is also flawless.
The accompanying photos are of this copy.
