.........................

This is number 228 of a limited, 350 copy Blackie & Son 1910 publication of Christina Rossetti’s “Poems” (369 numbered pages), profusely illustrated by Florence Harrison, whose signature is on the limitation page. The vellum cover (app. 9.5″ x 11.75″), missing it’s ties, is darkened and scuffed, but the gilt lettering and decorations are legible.

The many full page color illustrations are tipped in and with titled tissue guards, all of which are present. The black and white illustrations are either tipped in or in-page. All illustrations, and all text are unfaded and clean. There are recurrent light border and gutter stains, but no substantial stains. Most pages have none.

There are no stamps or other attachments. There is a pencil drawing on the front end page. The only writings are the copy number and illustrator’s signature.

The gilt page tops and deckled edges have no notable tears. The binding is secure throughout, with no loose and no missing pages. None of the tipped in illustrations are loose.

The accompanying photos are of this copy.
