This is 597 of a printing of 750 copies on vélin pur fil lafuma, published by Éditions Falaize in 1951, of the posthumous collection of Yvan Goll poems, “Les Cercles Magiques”, a slim (61 numbered pages), small (app. 6.5″ x 5″) softcover, with six illustrations by Fernand Léger.
This has a hand written note to Monique and Marcel, signed by Yvan’s widow, Claire Goll. Marcel was the composer Marcel Mihalovici, a friend and sometimes collaborator of Goll’s. The cover, under the original glassine wrap, which is clean with only slight edge wear, appears to be in excellent condition, with the Léger art and all lettering unfaded, and with no notable tears or creases. The inside is in like condition, with no stains, tears, or looseness.
The illustrations and text are clean throughout. The only extreaneous element is Claire’s note.
