This is the 1887 private printing (Edinburgh), of History and Genealogy of the Colts of That Ilk and Gartsherrie and of the English & American Branches of That Family (276 pages), with the shield of arms of Robert Colt gilt embossed on front cover, together with that of his wife, as the frontispiece illustration.
The cover, leather spine with four raised bands, gilt lettering to the spine and gilt illustration to the front, is very good overall, with surface scuffs and moderate edge wear, including bumped outside corners, but with little fade and no prominent stains. The spine is straight. The gilt is unfaded.
The inside is near fine. there are no stamps, or other attachments, nor is there any writing. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. There are no tears, and no significant creases. All the pages are clean and unfaded.
