This is the 1741 Fridericum Christianum Weygand publication of Johann Laurentz von Mosheim’s “Historia Tartarorum Ecclesistica” (138 pages to initial section; 216 additional pages to the appendix and index), with all text in latin.
It has been recovered with tortoise shell boards and a cloth backed spine, on which the title label, with scripted title, is darkened, but legible.
The cover is securely attached, with no weakness at the hinges. The end pages are tanned and foxed, but all text is legible. There is little of either, and no other stains of note, to the body pages. The binding is tight throughout, with no loose or missing pages. There are no page tears or sharp creases.
The map, attached at the front, is clean and without tears. The only extraneous elements are a few notations to the end pages and the blind-embossed stamp of the “Free Church College Library, Glasgow” to the title page.
