.........................

This is the two-volume (269 + 258 numbered pages) 1931 Gregynog Press publication, limited to 500 numbered sets, of “The Plays of Euripides”, translated into English Rhyming Verse by Gilbert Murray, and with wood engravings by Robert Ashwin Maynard and Horace Walter Bray.

Volume I is numbered 481. Volume II is numbered 479. The large format (app. 15.25″x 10.375″) red cloth covers, with gold lettering and design, have surface scuffs, a few spot stains, and curl curl, with some loss, to the ends of the spines (see photos), but no signifiant stains or notable fade.

The gilt is clean and legible. The connections at the spines are secure. The only extraneous elements are the bookplates of the bibliophile George Forman Goodyear, to each inside front cover. There are no other attachments, and no notations.

The bindings are tight, with no loose or missing pages. There are no page tears. The pages are clean throughout both volumes, with all text and illustrations as new.

The accompanying photos are of this set.
