.........................
This is copy no. IV of a group of 15 copies (designated by roman numerals I through XV) set aside for the illustrator, André Dunoyer de Segonzac, beyond the stated limited printing of 195 numbered copies, of Quelques Sonnets de Ronsard, in its original slipcase, with an inscription to Antoinette Schulte, signed by Dunoyer de Segonzac.
This is in a black clamshell case, presumably a later addition, in the original slipcase, in very good condition, with a notable scuff but no significant stains, no tears or looseness at the joints.
The loose cover is unfaded, clean and without tears or other flaws. The inside has 26 folders, the first two of which have the title page, the half title page with the Segonzac inscription and signature, two descriptive pages, a page with an illustration and the title “Eaux-fortes” (etchings), and a separate illustration page.
This set, as noted in the description, is on papier filigrané, not japon paper. The body of 24 folders, each of which has two illustrations (321 x 257 mm) with tissue guards and one page of poetry, are in near fine to fine condition, the only flaws being a few creases to tissue guards. There are 50 illustrations in all.
This is a rare set in excellent condition.
The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of the book conditions.
