This is copy number 14 of the limited (75 numbered copies + 10 artist’s proofs) 1992 Joseph D’Ambrosio, Livre d’ Art printing of Villiers de L’ Isle-Adam’s Olympe & Henriette, printed on Pestiaux’s hand-made “Dusty Rose” paper, with an introduction by Patrick Magarick, and signed by D’Ambrosio below the limitation number.
This is in fine condition, inside and out.
This title, “Olympe & Henriette”, is yet one more example of D’Ambrosio’s ability to create a book that is a work of art. The cover (8.875″ x 6″), has a blue cloth spine that steps down and out from its center, both front and back, the cloth extending to the front and back boards, with a serpentine edge that abuts these floral boards that continue to the cover’s outside edges. The cover is uniformly clean and unfaded, with no tears or creases.
The inside, 24 numbered pages plus several un-numbered end pages, has no flaws of note. There are no stains or scuffs, no tears or creases, and no fade. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. The many cut-outs and designed edges are in perfect condition. All the art and type are as new. The only writings are the copy number and D’Ambrosio’s signature. There are no stamps or other extraneous elements.
The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of the book conditions.
