.........................
This is the large format two-volume (199/382 pp.) 1930 Limited (#606 of 1500) Editions Club english translation, by Frances Winwar, of Giovanni Boccaccio’s short tales, The Decameron. This publication was designed and signed by T. M. Cleland, and introduced by Burton Rascoe.
This is in very good to near fine condition, the only flaws being surface scuffs to the cover (app. 11.75″ x 9.25″), which has shallow wear to a few edge areas (see photos), bookplates (Russell Benedict) to each inside front cover, a very few shallow corner creases, and one tanned spead (see photo), the result of a newspaper clipping having been left in place. There are no other attachments, nor is there any writing. The binding is tight throughout, with no loose or missing pages. There are no page tears or proiminent creases. The page faces are lightly sunned toward the borders, but otherwise as new, with all text and all decorative devices as new. The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of this copy’s conditions.
