This is a fine copy, number 228 from an edition of 300, published by the Limited Editions Club in 1997, of three poems from Charles Baudelaire’s “Les Fleurs du Mal” with an afterword by Jean Leymarie. Four photos, by Henri Cartier-Bresson, whose signature is on the limitation page, accompany the poems.
The red linen clamshell case, with the title on its spine and a black felt inside lining, is in fine condition. The book itself (app. 14″ x 14.75″), is also in fine condition, with no stains, scuffs, tears, creases or attachments. The only writings are the copy number and the Cartier-Bresson signature. All text (in French and English), photo-reproductions and tissue guards are as new. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. This doesn’t have the Limited Editions cover letter.
The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of this copy’s condition.
