This is the first printing (June, 1936), a limited Obelisk Press (Paris) softcover run of 1000 copies, of Henry Miller’s second published novel, “Black Spring” (267 numbered pages), in its clear plastic wrap, which has a number of edge tears, with missing sections.
The book itself is in very good condition, with shallow edge wear to the cover, which has no deep tears or notable stains, no fade to the art or lettering, and no looseness at the spine. The only internal flaws of note are several shallow edge tears, with some material missing, from pages that were cut open carelessly. Almost all pages have no such tears. The pages are clean and securely attached, with none missing or loose and with no stains. There is no writing, nor are there any other notations.
The only extraneous element is the bookplate of Peggy & Steve Fossett, he being the adventurer and holder of many world records, among which was his accomplishment of being the first to complete a solo balloon flight around the world.
