This is the Chung Hwa Book Company (Shanghai) publication, “An Old Chinese Garden, A Three-fold Masterpiece of Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting”, by Wen Chên Ming, translated by Mo Zung Chung, and with studies written by Kate Kerby.
The large format (app. 11″ x 11.75′) cover, black design on purple cloth, with gold lettering, with ties at the spine, is slightly faded and with shallow edge wear at the front and back, which are good overall (see photo), but with pieces of tape securing the spine, which is split at both the front and back edge.
The ties are in good condition. The inside is very good, with a few shallow edge tears, but with almost all pages without any tears, and with no deep tears. There are a small number of scuffs and minor stains, but, as with the tears, most pages have none and no pages have significant stains.
The binding is tight throughout, with no loose or missing pages. There is no notable fade to any text or art. The first and last end pages have shallow chips to their outside edges.
The accompanying photos are of this copy.
