This is the 1687 printing, for R. Baldwin, London, of Andrew Marvell’s 38 page essay, “A Short Historical Essay, Touching General Councils, Creeds, and Impositions in Matters of Religion. Very Seasonable at this Time.”
This has no cover, and is now held in a simple brown paper wrap. The binding is fair, with partial looseness to some of the final pages, but with no completely loose and no missing pages. The pages are in good overall condition, with no notable tears and, other than the sunned borders, few stains. All the text is clearly legible. The only writing is a number to the top of the title page (see photo). There are no stamps or other attachments. There are no page creases.
The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of the book conditions.
