.........................
This is the 1606 printing (app. 6.25″ x 8.25″), by Pietro Ricciardi, Venice, of “Libro di Marco Aurelio con L’Horologio de Prencipi destinto in IIII volumi” (all text in Italian), four volumes in one, recovered, with a leather spine, marbled boards, and outside leather corners.
The spine, with 5 raised bands, gilt lettering and details, five embossed decorations, is in excellent condition – straight, securely attached, and with no stains or tears. The inside is in very good condition, with the following flaws: the title page to volume I has crossed out ink writing (see photo); there are about a dozen edge tears, none of which extend into printed areas, and there are recurrent light stains, none of which obscure the text.
The binding is tight throughout, with no loose pages.
The flyleaves, two to each end, are clean and without stamps or other attachments. The
text shows no notable fade.
The accompanying photos are of this copy.
