This is the stated first US edition, published by Harper & Row in 1971, of the Ted Hughes group of poems, Crow, From the Life and Songs of the Crow (84 numbered pages).
The dust jacket is very good, with a few light and small scuffs, but no notable stains or tears, and no fade to the art or lettering. The cover is near fine, with no fade to the off-white boards or extended black spine, and with the red lettering and Leonard Baskin black crow illustration as new. The inside has no flaws of note.
Hughes has signed the book at the top of the first poem (Two Legends), adding “Ancient News, Primeval Views, 27th March, 1971”. There is no other writing. There are no stamps or other attachments. The pages are clean throughout the book, with no stains or scuffs, no tears or creases. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. All the text is in new condition.
